Marburg Virus Disease: An Emerging Public Health Challenge

چکیده

Marburg Virus is a contagious virus belonging to the family Filoviridae, which shared by Ebola Virus. It leads disease typically characterized viral haemorrhagic fever (VHF). The infection can get systemic during late organ phase, eventually multi-organ dysfunction, thereby making it deadly disease. An important factor contributing its tissue tropism glycoprotein (MARV GP), while host of nucleocapsid-associated as well matrix-associated proteins contribute features immune evasion and spread. Till now, all major outbreaks have been traced African origins efforts are being made raise awareness regarding this emerging infectious Prevention dependent on early diagnosis or detection, relies upon RT-PCR, Antigen ELISA, Antibody etc., protection against natural reservoirs, Egyptian fruit bat, their droppings. Adequate distancing from infected vectors, non-human primates (NHPs) also crucial. This review discusses some key aspects that causes, throwing light prevention control strategies, in backdrop recent outbreak Ghana. concludes drawing parallel between MARV other bat-borne RNA viruses, integrated with selection pressure delineate potentiality future large-scale MVD.
